Maggie Gee

Maggie Gee is the author of eleven novels, including The White Family (2002) which was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction and the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, and most recently My Driver (2009), as well as a memoir, My Animal Life, and a collection of short stories, The Blue (2005). In 1982 she was selected by Granta as one of the original 20 ‘Best of Young British Novelists’, and in 2004 became the first female Chair of the Council of the Royal Society of Literature.
