Yusra al Khatib
Yusra al Khatib is a short story writer and poet and is a member of both the Union of Arab Writers Online and the Palestinian Writers’ Union. She was winner of the Creative Woman Award for the best short story in 2014. Her poems and stories have been widely published online, as well as in national and international magazines. Her first short story collection, entitled Sometimes the Sea is Thirsty, was published by the Shams Institute for Publishing and Media in Cairo in 2009. Her first collection of prose poetry As if it Were a Homeland was published in 2013 by al-Hidhara lil-Nashar in Cairo and she has a forthcoming collection of very short stories under the title Between Two Brackets with an Asterisk. She holds a bachelor degree in Administration and Economics and is currently working as a teacher.
