Comma sells Rights for 'The Drone Eats With Me' to North America and Germany

Comma are delighted to announce that, following a busy three days of meetings at the London Book Fair, we have successfully sold the German and American rights for Atef Abu Saif’s 'The Drone Eats With Me'. The book documents the siege – ‘Operation Protective Edge’ - that took place in Gaza in July and August 2014 through the diary entries of Atef Abu Saif. It is a unique and haunting first-hand account of life on the strip which has already received extensive media coverage, prior to its publication in media such as: The New York Times (op-ed), The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The Slate, Guernica (and others).

Beacon Press take North American rights and Unionsverlag German rights. Comma are thrilled that such a powerful book will be reaching a broader audience. The UK edition will be published with a foreword by Noam Chomsky in May.
