Heather Leach

Heather Leach's short stories have appeared in Best British Short Stories, Salt; Big Issue; City Life Book of Manchester Stories, Cinnamon Press, Northern Stories, Metropolitan, Pool, BBC Radio. Her non-fiction has been published in the Higher Education Supplement, Dedal-Lit, MsLexia and others. She has won a number of writing prizes, including BBC Radio North short story competition, and Times Higher Education essay prize. She is co-editor/contributor of The Road to Somewhere (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014 Second ed.). and Everything You Need to Know About Creative Writing (Continuum, 2007). She has lived for most of her life in Manchester, working as a community activist, and community development worker. She has also been a van driver and teacher. She currently lives in Derbyshire.
