PLACE OF WILD STRAWBERRIES: A POETRY WORKSHOP WITH GAIA HOLMES

Smultronställe is a German word which, when literally translated, means ‘a place of wild strawberries’. The word is used to describe a special place that is close to your heart, where you feel at ease and at one with the world. In this workshop with Gaia Holmes we will be using rare, beautiful and unusual words from English and other languages as the inspiration for our own poetry.

Gaia Holmes lives in Halifax. She is a freelance writer and creative writing tutor who works with schools, universities, libraries and other community groups throughout the West Yorkshire region. She has had three full length poetry collections published.
