Sunday April 19th @ 7pm

Venue: The Crazy Coqs, London

Step into a story. Be held by the purity of a great actor giving voice to a great writer. You will be transformed...

WordTheatre® returns to The Crazy Coqs with powerful stories celebrating Britain's long, great tradition of protest and people power. In association with Comma Press, we re-imagine key moments with moving stories that follow fictional characters caught up in real-life struggles and offering a street level perspective on the noble art of resistance.

Since 2003, WordTheatre® has been giving voice to great writing in both the US and the UK. Powerful and engaging performances featuring esteemed authors, actors and musicians, capture the imaginations of diverse audiences, from underserved students to sophisticated cultural enthusiasts, inspiring empathy, curiosity, and conversation.

Actors Jing Lusi (Crazy Rich Asians), Danny Sapani ( Black Panther, Penny Dreadful), Alastair Mackenzie (Deep Water, Monarch of the Glen) and more inhabit fictional stories inspired by real events. Authors Kit De Waal, Jacob Ross and Kamila Shamsie, have written deeply moving stories featuring characters caught up in real-life struggles that offer a street level perspective on the noble art of resistance.

Paul Cook on piano.
