Barbora Hrínová

Barbora Hrínová (1984) is a writer and screenwriter. A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, she currently teaches screenwriting, creative writing and seminars on Slovak and world literature at VŠMU. She has written for Slovak TV and Radio. Her first collection of short-stories, Jednorožce (Unicorns, 2020), garnered Slovakia´s most prestigious literary prize, the Anasoft litera 2021. The book has been translated into six languages so far, including into English (due out with Seagull Books, 2026). In 2025, her novel Plachý dom (The Shy House) was published by Artforum.
