Behnam Yousefpour

Behnam Yousefpour studied filmmaking at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, before taking a mechanical engineering degree at the Babol Noshirvani University of Technology (NIT). He has written and/or directed seventeen short and feature-length films and documentaries. He also studied creative writing and was taught by the feminist author, translator, and poet, Shiva Arastouei, who went on to be an abiding influence on his work, until she tragically took her own life in May, 2025. Yousefpour has published one novel, It’s Exactly Midnight Now, as well as numerous short stories.
