Jana Juráňová
Jana Juráňová (1957) is writer of fiction, plays for the theatre and radio, and translator. Her books have been nominated five times to the Slovakia’s most prestigious literary prize, the Anasoft Litera. Her books include Ilona. My Life With the Bard (Calypso Editions, 2014). My Seven Lives. Jana Juráňová In Conversation With Agneša Kalinová (Purdue University Press, 2021) Several of her books were translated to English, German, French, Slovenian, Hungarian language. In 2019 the President of Slovakia awarded her the Order of Ľudovít Štúr (First Class) for her extraordinary contribution to the development of democracy, human rights and freedom, as well as for her literary activities.
