Lubaina Himid CBE RA

Lubaina Himid CBE RA is a British artist whose practice addresses themes of race, history, feminism, memory and identity. Her work often employs theatricality, pattern and colour to challenge dominant cultural narratives and amplify overlooked voices. She is representing Great Britain at the 61st Venice Biennale, was awarded the Susan Deal Booth/FLAG Art Foundation Prize in 2024 and the Maria Lassnig Prize in 2023, and won the Turner Prize in 2017. Her work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally and has been acquired by major public and private art collections worldwide.
