Merryn Glover

Merryn Glover was born in Kathmandu and grew up in Nepal, India and Pakistan, is Australian by passport and has called Scotland home for over 30 years. Her first major work was the stage play, The Long Way Home, later broadcast on Radio Scotland and followed by three further radio plays for the BBC. Her second novel, Of Stone and Sky (2021) won Book of the Year at the Bookmark Festival and was longlisted for the Highland Book Prize. She was the first Writer in Residence for the Cairngorms National Park and is a regular contributor to The Guardian’s Country Diary. Her non-fiction book, The Hidden Fires: A Cairngorms Journey with Nan Shepherd (2023), was shortlisted for the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature and The Great Outdoors Magazine Book of the Year. Her upcoming novel, The Light of All Things, set in Nepal and Australia, will be out with Polygon Books in September 2027.
