Borderless Book Club - The Book of Cairo

12 Nov 2020 - 8.00PM

In response to the Covid-19 crisis and the lockdown order, Peirene created the Borderless Book Club in collaboration with several other small presses in March 2020. Initially planned for a six-week run, we have decided to continue the book club with fortnightly meetings for the foreseeable future.

As part of the Borderless Book Club's Autumn programme, there are eight more fantastic works of translated literature ready to be shared and discussed, and which will take us all the way to December. Once again we have a selection of brilliant literature that spans the continents,

Meetings are held on Thursday evenings at 8pm UK time, via Zoom. Participation is free and meetings can be accessed from anywhere in the world. We exclusively discuss translated literature and invite translators to join us to discuss their work. Hosted by Maddie Rogers, Peirene’s publishing assistant, each meeting features a different press presenting their book.

Our session will be from 8pm on November 12th, when we'll be joined by the editor of the Book of Cairo, and translator of Arabic literature, Raphael Cormack.
