Join us for a free queer fiction workshop lead by Chloe de Lullington, followed by readings and a panel discussion with LGBTQ+ authors. Comma Press Writers' days are perfect opportunities for writers of all experience levels to experiment with new forms and meet new people!
Join us at Chorlton Library for a Queer Fiction writing workshop led by author Chloe De Lullington, followed by a panel discussion, readings and a Q&A where Chloe will be joined by two fellow queer authors Adam Lowe and Emma Hinds.
This is the perfect chance to ask questions about writing or getting published. There will also be time for any book signings!

Chloe de Lullington is an author and screenwriter based just outside Manchester, having grown up on the outskirts of pretty much everything else as well - which, as it turns out, makes for the most compelling stories! Drawn to the eccentric and the liminal, she's good at funny with a side of sad. Cacoethes is her first novel.
Adam Lowe (he/his, mostly) is a Leeds-born writer, performer and publisher living in Manchester. He is the UK’s LGBT+ History Month Poet Laureate and was Yorkshire’s Poet for 2012. He writes poetry, plays and fiction, and occasionally performs in drag as Beyonce Holes. Adam is a graduate of The Complete Works, Obsidian and Inscribe. Adam is Chair of Black Gold Arts and a board member of Schools OUT UK, the charity that founded LGBT+ History Month in the UK. He was one of the founders of #MEAction UK, as well as Young Enigma and Vada Magazine. Adam runs Dog Horn Publishing and handles publicity for Peepal Tree Press. Adam has a BA (Hons) and MA from the University of Leeds, and is studying for a PhD at the University of Manchester. His debut poetry collection Patterflash (Peepal Tree Press, 2023) is a PBS Recommendation, receiving acclaim from The Big Issue and featuring on BBC radio. adam-lowe.com
Emma Hinds is a Queer playwright and author living and working in Manchester. With a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of St Andrews, Emma focus on historical narratives, female voices, and Queer stories. Emma’s debut novel, The Knowing, is an exploration of female trauma in the vivid and cruel world of the Victorian freak show and is available through Bedford Square Publishing. Emma’s second novel, The Quick and the Dead, is an exciting dive in the world of queer Tudor alchemy is also available through Bedford Square Publishing. In 2025, Emma will be publishing her debut YA fantasy novel, Witchlore, a story about teenage shapeshifters and witches in Manchester. Emma is also the author of The Heir to the House of Prince fanfic series, which currently stands at over a million words and over a million views on Ao3. In a playwriting capacity, Emma’s play, PURE, an exposing account of purity culture in Christian evangelicalism, was featured in Turn On festival at Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester. Emma was the recipient of the Artist Development grant at Hope Mill Theatre. Emma has written a few previous non-fiction books in the capacity as an academic (Emma initially explored becoming a theologian) with an essay published, Tarantino and Theology; with Gray Matter Books and the book, Ineffable Love: Christian Themes in Good Omens; published by Darton Longman Todd. Emma uses she/they pronouns.
