Refugee Tales IV at Migration Matters Festival

14 Jun 2021 - 3.00PM

Monday 14th June 2021

3 - 4pm (UK time)

ONLINE event (on festival website & Zoom)

Dina Nayeri reads a new story from Refugee Tales: Volume IV.

In this new volume in the Refugee Tales series, once again poets, novelists and writers have collaborated with people who have experienced detention, their stories appearing alongside first-hand accounts of people who themselves have been detained. Here we are told what it means to experience the ongoing reality of the UK’s ‘hostile environment’, as well as detention in Canada, Greece, Italy, and the USA. Each new story communicates the human costs of a system which fundamentally breaches human rights, and each story conveys the need for urgent political change. At this event, contributor Dina Nayeri reads from the volume. Anna Pincus, Director of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group and co-editor of the Refugee Tales series, will be 'in conversation' with Dina at the event.

This event will be broadcast on the festival website, including a Q&A with the artist.

Only those attending via Zoom will be able to submit a question to the artists. If you would like to reserve your place, please REGISTER here
