Refugee Tales are walking over 5 days from Brighton to Hastings ~ Friday 5 July to Wednesday 10 July.

A walk in solidarity with Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Detainees. Refugee Tales is an outreach project of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group inspired by the experiences of men held in immigration detention at Gatwick and the work of the Group in 20 years of visiting. This years’ walk will take place between Brighton and Hastings.

Walks will be led by experienced leaders every day. Every lunchtime there will be talks and your ticket allows you entry to all the evening events.

Ticket price includes accommodation is in community and parish halls.For those booking the full walk, accommodation also includes the night of Friday 5 July. Women and men will have separate accommodation. Please bring sleeping bag and inflatable mattress.Tickets also include three meals a day.

Walkers are welcome for the week, the weekend or individual days.

Student full walk ticket price: £110
The full walk with accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner from the evening of Friday 5th July to Wednesday 10th July finishing in Hastings with coach travel provided after the evening performance to Brighton (no accommodation provided on the Wednesday evening). Accommodation will often be in community and parish halls. There will be an information session for walkers and a health and safety briefing on the evening of Friday 5th July and it is important that you are able to attend this session. Please arrive by 5.30pm. Three meals a day, lunchtime talks and evening events included. 

Weekend walk
Price: £95
Weekend walk ticket includes Friday and Saturday night accommodation, dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, packed lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and entry to lunchtime talks and evening events.

Day walk
Price: £10 per day (please book for all the days you wish to walk) 
This is a walk-only option and includes a guided walk each day, lunchtime talks and entrance to the evening event (you will be required to bring your own refreshments)
The organisers do not wish to discourage anyone from joining us on financial grounds. If you would like to join us but the cost is not affordable please get in touch with GDWG directly as they may be able to help.
