About the event
An evening of testimonies reflecting upon the resilience of Palestinians in Gaza accompanied by traditional Arabic music and a visual score.
An evening reflecting upon the resilience of Palestinians in Gaza, including extracts from the diaries of writers Nahil Mohana, Sondos Sabra, Ala'a Ebeid and Atef Abu Saif. Presented by Comma Press, this is a performance of testimonies from people experiencing what Amnesty International has called 'alarming signs of genocide'.
Diary entries will be accompanied by traditional Arabic music performed by Ahmed Adnan and a visual score by Gazan filmmaker Hossam Abo Shamallah.
The show features performances by Nabil Elouahabi (Trigger Point, Blue Lights) alongside Palestinian performers and others expressing solidarity with those living in Gaza.
Voices of Resilience has previously been hosted at HOME Manchester and will take place at Edinburgh International Book Festival this summer.
Running time: 90 minutes, no interval
There will be a panel discussion following the event. Free to same day ticket holders.
Performed in English with some Arabic words and phrases used.
