Comma Press awarded two English PEN Translates awards

We're over the moon to be able to say we've been awarded English PEN Translates awards for two forthcoming collections.

'The Book of Cairo' edited by Raph Cormack, will be another instalment of our Reading the City series taking ten stories by ten exciting emerging Egyptian writers and translating them into English for the first time. The stories will be translated from Arabic by Raphael Cohen, Basma Ghalayini, Thoraya al-Rayyes, Elisabeth Jaquette, Andrew Leber, Raph Cormack, Ruth Ahmedzai Kemp, Kareem James Abu Zeid, Yasmine Seale and Adam Talib.

'Thirteen Months of Sunrise' is the first full collection by Sudanese author Rania Mamoun, who was featured in 'The Book of Khartoum'. It will be translated from Arabic by Elisabeth Jacquette.

We plan to publish both in Spring 2019, so stay tuned. Thanks to English PEN for their continued support of our translated work as well as the work of many other brilliant presses. See the full list here, which includes the likes of Peepal Tree Press, Charco Press and many more :
