Comma Press is North England region winner of Small Press of the Year

The nine winners of the regional and country round of the British Book Awards Small Press of the Year accolade have been revealed today by The Bookseller. The award celebrates the diversity of small presses in the UK.

Comma Press are the North England regional winner. The judges cited that in 2019, we picked up several prizes and shortlistings — including at the FutureBook Awards for our podcast (The Comma Press Podcast) —and continued to give voice to many neglected overseas and regional British writers. Our 2019 trade sales were also our best ever.

The other winning regional presses are:

Firefly Books (Wales)

Jacaranda (London co-winner)

The Lilliput Press (Ireland)

Otter-Barry Books (Midlands)

Really Decent Books (South-west England)

Sandstone Press (Scotland)

September Publishing (East and South-east England)

Tiny Owl (London co-winner)

The regional and country winners will now be in contention for the overall Small Press of the Year, to be announced at the British Book Awards, a.k.a. The Nibbles, on 29th June 2020.
