Gaia Holmes longlisted for the RSL Ondaatje Prize 2019

We are delight to announce that author Gaia Holmes has made the longlist for the RSL Ondaatje Prize for her thir collection of poetry, Where the Road Runs Out, published by Comma Press in 2018. 

The £10,000 prize is awarded to a book of the highest literary merit - fiction, non-fiction or poetry - which best evokes the spirit of place. In its fifteeth year, a longlist of 20 books has been announced.

This year's judges are Sabrina Mahfouz, Michele Roberts and Ian Thomson.

The longlist includes books published by the likes of Oneworld, Faber & Faber, 4th Estate, Atlantic Books, Cassava Republic, Unbound, Picador, Canongate and more. 

Gaia's name joins a list of emerging and estalished stars including Sarah Moss (Ghost Wall), Donal Ryan (From a Low and Quiet Sea) and Jonathan Coe (Middle England)

The shortlist will be announced at a 'Spirit of Place' event on Tuesday 16th April, shortly after which the winner will be announced on Monday 13th May.
