About the Author
Jane Rogers, FRSL, has written 10 novels, radio drama and stories. The Testament of Jessie Lamb won the Arthur C Clarke Award, was Man-Booker longlisted, and translated into seven languages. Jane’s first collection of stories, Hitting Trees with Sticks, was shortlisted for the Edgehill Award, and the title story was a BBC National short story competition finalist. Earlier novels won the Somerset Maugham Award and the Writers Guild Best Fiction Book Award, and she has twice been longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her TV dramatization of her award-winning novel Mr Wroe’s Virgins was BAFTA nominated for best drama serial. Jane continues to teach writing at all levels, and is Emerita Professor of Writing at Sheffield Hallam University. She currently runs workshops for MsLexia and Faber Academy, and mentors for Gold Dust.
